I learnt the plaiting art in Villaputzu, thanks to my father-in-law Mario Atzori, and since 2002 my passion became my profession.
To create my crafts I use local materials which can be found in Sarrabus countryside: willow tree, wild olive, myrtle and reed. Using the plaiting, weft and warp techniques I realise all sorts of baskets , chandeliers and bottle covers.
A few years ago I worked with Imago Mundi’s designers on an innovative project, which has been much appreciated on international scale and published by some top-rated interior design magazines. For many years now, in addition to traditional baskets, I have been practising realising products inspired by the above-mentioned collaboration.
In 2015 I also worked with the fashion designer Antonio Marras and our project won the first prize in “Milano Designer Awards” for the art installation “Sentiero dei Nidi di Ragno”.
