Antica Arte della Ceramica by Francesca Addari
I live and work in Usellus, a little village in the area of Alta Marmilla area. I got my professional high-school certificate as childwood educator in children’s centers, and then, encouraged by my passion for Sardinian culture and tradition, I attended some Ceramic courses which made me a ceramist in 2002.
I began with coiling technique, inspired by some nuragic and paleolithic findings, to finally arrive to the potter’s wheel, with innovative shapes and colours, but always maintaining decorations and signs: symbols of nuragic culture.
I take care of the whole production chain: after shaping with the potter’s wheel and drying, the product is refined and engobed, then decorated by sgraffito, and finally fired with first and second firing.
